MODESTO, STANISLAUS COUNTY — October 22, 2026. Drivers using State Route 132 at Spencer Avenue in Modesto late at night should be alert for flaggers and lane restrictions. Caltrans District 10 listed one-way traffic control for utility work scheduled from Sunday, October 18 through Friday, October 23.

Timing and the kind of restriction

The agency listed the overnight shift as 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., which means the workday can cross midnight. One-way traffic control typically alternates direction through a narrowed section. It is not the same as an announced full closure of SR-132, nor does the official bulletin say which individual nights will produce the longest delay.

People traveling home from evening shifts and drivers crossing Modesto after dark should watch temporary signs and avoid assuming normal intersection movements will be available. Caltrans broadly advises motorists to allow 5–10 minutes for the district’s planned construction restrictions, but that is an advisory estimate rather than a measured wait at this junction.

Separate this from the Frazine Road restriction

The same Caltrans notice describes a much longer westbound left-turn lane closure at Frazine Road in Empire, scheduled through November 20. Although both are on SR-132, Spencer Avenue has an overnight utility-work window ending October 23 in this notice, whereas Frazine Road is a long-term excavation restriction.

For the most useful trip decision, confirm the condition of the exact junction before departure. The schedule may shift due to weather or equipment. There is no basis in the posted notice to claim an outage, collision or emergency road failure.
