MODESTO, Stanislaus County — November 4, 2026. Two separate Modesto-area school bond proposals sit on opposite sides of their 55% approval threshold in the early returns.
Preliminary election numbers
The Modesto Focus reported more than 58.5% Yes on Modesto City High School District Measure K and approximately 54.8% Yes on Sylvan Union School District Measure N in its November 4 morning update.
Who votes and what is decided?
These are distinct school districts and separate ballot questions. A simple Yes majority is not enough when 55% approval is required. In the reported snapshot, Measure K was above the threshold and Measure N just below, but the figures can change as eligible ballots are processed. No certified passage or rejection is being announced.
Why the report is provisional
These percentages appeared in local reporting updated on November 4, 2026 and do not represent a newly verified November 5 county result. Stanislaus County will review and count additional eligible vote-by-mail, provisional and conditional-registration ballots during its official canvass. Only the Registrar of Voters can certify the outcome.
